Justin Moore has kind of given us a guided tour of his brand new album Late Nights and Long Necks. It's available now. And this next song is called That's My Boy. And if I'm not mistaken, this is the first song that you've ever written specifically about one of your kids. And so I'm wondering, besides the fact that South is your first boy, what was it that made you want to write this particular song? Well, you kind of touched on it. I've certainly have been influenced to write songs in my career a certain way or put lines in a song or cut songs because I'm a parent. But it's the first time, as you said, that I've written one specifically for one of my kids. And so I don't know, it's just so different being a parent to a boy than it is a girl. I've obviously now experienced both of them. And their personalities are so different, how you handle them subconsciously. I mean, it's not even a conscious decision to handle him differently than the girls, but I just do it. I'm probably not as compassionate, not as sweet to him, but love him just as much. But anyway, we were actually tracking the album. I think we had three days where we tracked the album and we had done two days and we had done way more. And well, we're really happy with what we had, way more than we thought we would be at the point where we were. And me and my producer were sitting in his hot tub, coincidentally, one night, not before the last tracking day, drinking beer. And he has three boys and a girl. I have three girls and a boy. And I had just had my little boy at the time. He was fairly young. And I said, man, I don't know why I just thought of this, but we ought to write a song called That's My Boy. You know, because that's a saying that people say all the time. That's my boy. It's one of those, I'm like, I can't believe nobody's written that. And I said, well, we're going to do it like now in order to be able to track it if we like it. And so we texted Casey Beathard that night and said, hey, meet us at eight at the house and we'll try to knock this out because we got to be at the studio at 10. And literally wrote it in an hour, went to the studio. I had a guitar vocal, played it for the head of our record label. He's like, that's really good. Let's cut it. So that's how that all transpired. It was kind of a fluke deal. First time I've ever done that in my career. It's kind of neat when they happen that way. Well, yeah, when you can write such a great song in an hour, that is pretty good. This is called That's My Boy, inspired by Justin Moore's son, South, and it's on his brand new album, which is available now.
