Listen to Our Hearts is designed to draw you near to God.Following are Listen to Our Hearts moments with the artists featured on this recording.Like you, each of these women experience both joys and struggles daily. They're on the same journey of faith as you, striving to live a life honoring God.It's important for all of us to stop and reflect on occasion. It's here that we're reminded again how faithful our God truly is.As you listen to Their Hearts, we hope you find His.First we'll hear from Susan Ashton, followed by Body and Soul, from her recording, A DistantCall.I've been on a personal journey to find myself.I've felt like over the last couple of years I've really started to lose myself and I neededto reconnect and just find myself personally and in my relationship with God.It's always a really difficult thing when you make that trek inward and do that workand dig stuff up.It's always really hard, but I've found it always to be very rewarding because God isfaithful and He always meets you there. For me, I think the hardest part is because I'm so good at beating myself up for not beingmore of this or less of that or better at this.Recently a friend gave me this verse as an encouragement. It's 1 John 3, verses 19 and 20.This then is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at restin His presence whenever our hearts condemn us.For God is greater than our hearts and He knows everything. When I read that, it was just so huge for me because I realized how much freedom thereis in my relationship with Him.I think we all have our dark corners where we try to hide.We have the little things or even the big things that we don't want people to know aboutus or that we really don't even want God to see, but He illuminates all of those darkcorners and He enables us to face things and deal with them and move them out if they needto be moved out.He cleans out the cobwebs. It just reconfirmed to me that I don't have to be anybody other than who I am.God loves me completely right now, right where I am for who I am.I belong to Him.Despite me, God consistently, faithfully, passionately and lovingly pursues me.He illuminates all of those dark corners and He cleans out all the junk.He takes me to such a better place than I could ever get to on my own.Once I was lost, hurting inside, dangling over the edgeBut the history with pain, barely remainsOnce I was blind, but could it beThat the excess of life is shading the weary pastWith the shadow it castAnd as sin gives way to atoning bloodAnd the debt is paid with the riches of loveThere's a hope that I seekThere's a freedom in meThere's a comfort in death and in lifeKnowing that I belong to the Savior who's making me wholeBody and soulNow I can feel a sense of resolveChoosing a new point of viewGoing against the grainBreaking the chainAnd the shackles fall on the road to peaceAnd I lose them all as I find my releaseThere's a hope that I seekThere's a freedom in meThere's a comfort in death and in lifeKnowing that I belong to the Savior who's making me wholeBody and soulAnd that hope eternal springs in meAnd that freedom seems to willingly carry meThrough a world of fears I'm stored inside of meLoaded by meOh, oh, ohAnd as sin gives way to atoning bloodAnd the debt is paid with the riches of loveThere's a hope that I seekThere's a freedom in meThere's a comfort in death and in lifeKnowing that I belong to the Savior who's making me wholeBody and soulBody and soul
