You Don't Understand Me was the song that you recorded for the Don't Bore Us, Get to the Chorus album and this title is something I don't understand at all. It's in Spanish, yes. You know, we did a Spanish album, I can't remember when, 1997 maybe, called Balladas en Español. It was our biggest ballads in Spanish and someone translated my lyrics into Spanish. And I remember I picked the songs and I basically only picked songs that Marie was singing because she had to sing all the Spanish stuff. I was singing one song, I sang Vulnerable in Spanish. I can't remember the name, the title. But anyway, this You Don't Understand Me didn't make the album for some reason. I think we had too many songs. So this was just hidden away somewhere and I just thought about it, that there must be a version of You Don't Understand Me in Spanish somewhere. And in the old EMI vaults in London or in Cologne or wherever they had their stacks, they found it. So we did a new mix of it and it sounds great. And Marie's Spanish is, to me, immaculate. I don't have a clue what she's singing about. Have you heard any reactions? I mean, you have a big fan base in Latin America, for example, South America. Yeah. How did she approach the Spanish? Did she learn anything? Did she know anything before? No. The head of EMI Spain, Rafael Gil, he was with us in the studio for a week. So he was correcting her or me when I was singing to make it sound like proper Spanish. But she didn't know at all what she was singing. She was just phrasing it so it sounded cool. It sold like two million copies, that album. So it was a big album for us in the Spanish markets. And sometimes when we visited those countries, maybe Marie did the first verse of It Must Have Been Love in Spanish to please the crowd. Easy points.
