I have therefore chosen this time and place
to discuss a topic on which ignorance too often abounds
and the truth too rarely perceived.
And that is the most important topic on earth,
peace.
I realize the pursuit of peace
is not as dramatic as the pursuit of war.
All of this pain surrounding us,
every scar pulls us close,
never gaining us ground,
but this conflict is what we chose
while the voices are getting louder and I
am just wishing we could try figuring it out
but the money don't think it's good,
it's like it all keeps getting worse,
new day brings
a new curse,
I paid attention but lost track of who did what first,
it all keeps getting
harder,
we try to pick a martyr but can't agree
to just let go and choose peace for
starters.
World peace like community peace
does not require that each man love his neighbor,
it
requires only that they live together in mutual tolerance.
Yeah must be human nature must be in our blood
choosing one's own ambitions sounds like western
love even if I fight with everything I have I
know we'll both walk away with very little left
look up to the skies see the sun shines for both
of us you don't get to pick if you're the one to
hold the gun mama always told me what breaks more
than it solves this is me and my brothers this is
our resolve we have to stand up
and choose to love
we need to do
better than we did before
some more
heaven in these burning hearts
together we're stronger for a better world
before we know that we work better together the poison
of the power is deep and causing miserable weather
it's so destructive anyway you put it whether or not you
wanna fight you wanna run they watch the innocence drop
but ain't some soldiers in a movie this is somebody's son
this is somebody's loved one that's gotta pick up a gun
to fight a battle with no winners but the ones at the top
I'll practice peace and pray for all of our humanity lost
submitting their disputes to a just and
peaceful settlement peace need not be
impractical and war need not be inevitable
by defining our goal more clearly
we're stronger together what will our
forces be divided to even if it's hard
the forces must do better we can do it better we can allow it
red blood is the mother earth every
soldier would have nothing more than a son
that we bury * there's no glory
in war so little brother don't leave
school too early if you want a better world if you're a dreamer like
John Lennon know that you're not alone
and we'll solve nothing with hatred
I send love since they want war, war, war
we have to stand up
and choose to love
we need to do better
than we did before
need some more
heaven in these burning hearts
tell me why would someone start a war that no one wants to fight
or open up a store of pain when no one wants to pay the price
it's not fair because the people of Ukraine are out there fighting
for their rights while we just sit here and waste our time
trying to decide if we're gonna make a stand
against the violence or just let them die
we don't want the fight but we'll want a peace * I
wish this wasn't something that is so hard to achieve
for peace is a process
a way of solving problems so let us not be blind to our
differences but let us also direct attention to our common interest
I feel a deep disappointment and a deep shame because in 2022
a bomb was dropped on the heads of innocent
people to satisfy the needs of disgusting,
powerful people
I get the idea that a man of a few kilometers,
a boy of my age is going to kill other men
more than 300,000 have left their land
we show them that love wins every war
but we must also be safe for diversity for in the final analysis
our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet
we all breathe the same air we all cherish
our children's futures and we are all mortal
